Here is our list of the Top 10 Things To Do In July on Cape Cod
July 4th - Falmouth - "Travel & Leisure Magazine" named these fireworks as
one of their top 10. About 50,000 people line the 6 miles of beaches
and the north shore of Martha's Vineyard to see the spectacular
display totally funded by the local community since 1980. In 2009
the event will celebrate the 150th birthday of native daughter and
composer of "America The Beautiful", Katharine Lee Bates. Rain date - usually the next day.
Any Day - Head to the beach!- Featuring some of the nicest beaches, this is
one of the quintessential Cape Cod experiences. Beautiful sand and
warm temperatures offer the opportunity for fun and relaxation. Grab
your sunscreen, beach chair and umbrella and let your cares drift
away.
Mid-JulyBarnstable County Fair- East Falmouth - What started as an
annual agricultural exhibit in 1844 is now a 9 day event that includes
live concerts, crafts, rides & games, food, animal shows, demolition
derby, horticulture exhibits, commercial vendors and more.
July 3-5 - By The Bays 4th of July Fine Arts & Crafts Show- Brewster -
Find everything from a delicate watercolor that accents a room to a
piece of sturdy handcrafted furniture. Other items on hand include
jewelry, pottery, clothing and stained glass. Go shopping at this
unique event during a Cape Cod vacation and find some great
souvenirs.
Evenings - Cape Cod Baseball - One of the premier leagues for college players,
there is at least one game every night during the season. Enjoy a
great American past time and watch a future major league star.
All July - Walk The Long Pond Wild Life Sanctuary- Barnstable - Visit this
110acre haven in Long Pond Wildlife Sanctuary and enjoy the beauty
and abundance of life in the ponds and fields of Cape Cod. Early July
brings many different species of butterflies and dragonflies along with
other native wildlife.
Daily - Bike The Rail Trail- A great activity for all ages the Cape Cod rail
trail was built mostly along an old train track path. There are many
places to access the trail and bike rentals throughout the Cape.
Shopping - Main Street Chatham- Browse the many shops along Main Street
and finish up the day by attending the band concert at Gould Park.

Evenings- Chatham Band Concerts- Kate Gould Park Band Stand - Held
every Friday in July through Labor Day weekend from 8-9:30 PM.
A wonderful way to relax and enjoy the evening. Get there early to
claim a spot for your blanket or chairs.
Route 6a - Meander Along Route 6a - Stop and visit shops or just enjoy looking
at the colonial architecture of some of the old buildings. Check out a
roadside produce stand and pick up some sweet corn-on-the-cob and
fresh native vegetables for your dinner. There is an old windmill in
Brewster along with some beautiful water front homes and lodging.
